In short
PoopCheck helps you track your gut health. To do that we process your photos, symptoms, and lifestyle answers. Accepting these uses is necessary for PoopCheck to analyse your scans. We may also license or sell de-identified datasets and aggregated insights derived from the PoopCheck app for the purposes of scientific health research and improving AI-driven medical diagnostics. You can access, export, correct your data and revoke your consent at any time under Settings.
1. What we collect
Soft All Things LLC ("PoopCheck", "we", "us"), a company registered in Wyoming, USA is the data controller. We collect your account details (email, username, sign-in info); your stool images, the symptoms and lifestyle answers you give, the AI analysis we generate from them; basic device and usage data; and your subscription status. We do not collect your precise location, and we do not use cross-app advertising trackers.
2. How we use your data
When you use PoopCheck, your data is used to: analyse your scan and give you feedback, store your scans so history, charts, and tracking work, to improve PoopCheck's internal AI system and to measure and improve scan accuracy. PoopCheck may aggregate and derive anonymous data from personal information by removing or altering any components that make the data personally identifiable and license or sell this de-identified data for the purposes of scientific health research and improving AI-driven medical diagnostics.
We process your data based on contractual necessity to perform our service (GDPR Article 6 (1) (b) and equivalents) and carry out the stool analysis based on your explicit consent (GDPR Article 6 (1) (a) and Article 9 (2) (a) and equivalents). You have the option to withdraw your consent at any time under Settings with the consequence that PoopCheck can no longer process your scans. Since health data is a sensitive category of data with special protection under the law, users are required to consent separately to this data processing before carrying out their first scan.
Users who opt-in to receive marketing will occasionally receive communications about updates, new product features, and other relevant information. Any information users decide to disclose in the community feature is voluntary.
3. Who we share data with
We share data with service providers who process it for us under contract (Google/Firebase, Amazon Web Services, RevenueCat, Apple). We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or as part of a merger or sale of the business. We do not share your data with advertisers.
4. Storage, security, and retention
Your data is stored on encrypted servers in the United States, and we strip location metadata from your images. We keep your data while your account is active and delete it within 30 days of account closure, except limited records we are required to keep (such as proof of consent). No system is perfectly secure, but we use industry-standard protections.
5. Your rights
You can access, export, correct, restrict, and delete your data, and withdraw consent, at any time and free of charge, from Settings or by emailing us. You can also complain to your local data-protection regulator. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
6. International transfers, changes, and contact
If your data crosses borders (for example, to our US servers), we use appropriate legal safeguards. We may update this notice and will tell you about important changes. Contact our DPO for any inquiries at poopcheck@softallthings.com.
